Today’s Veriha Insider is focusing on a major issue in our country…human trafficking. As professional truck drivers, you are the eyes and the ears of the road. You often are in places others just simply aren’t. You may know someone who has been affected or may have been affected yourself. One thing is for certain…something needs to be done. So what can you do to help? What to look for:

• Minor selling commercial sex
• You are in a parked location and you see lights flashing (this could be signaling “I’m an available buyer”)
• You happen to hear CB chatter about “commercial company” or “someone needing to make their quota”
• You see an unaccompanied minor or a minor who looks fearful or is under the control of anothe

What to do:

• Make the call whether you’re sure or not. 1-888-3737-888 – 24/7 National Hotline can be completely confidential.
• Provide any details you can; what type of vehicle, the color of the vehicle, plates, description of the occupants: how many people, race, age, etc.
• Wherever you’re parked – let the general managers of the property know
• Don’t try to rescue on your own – catching the individual(s) responsible can help save many other victims as well.
