Using All The Tools
The final trip planning tool that you receive at Veriha, is Fuel and Route directions with almost every load. These directions include turn by turn directions along with your fuel solution.
The software looks at several things such as your:
- Fuel level
- Starting and ending location
- Fuel costs and more
to determine the best route and fuel solution for you. Like anything, it isn’t perfect. You may get directions that take you 200-miles out of route or over mountains when there is a more direct route.
When you get your instructions, write down your instructions and ensure that you understand them. We recommended all drivers trust but verify these directions with their:
- Atlas
- Google Maps
- GPS unit
If all three to four of the tools match, you are all set and on your way. If only two out of four are matching, call your Fleet Leader or Safety for help.
If you find a route that doesn’t make sense, escalate to your Fleet Leader so that it can be reviewed. The system is only as good as the data that we provide it.
Remember, it is your responsibility to ensure your route is safe and legal. When you take the time to use all four tools, it will make for a smoother day, less anxiety and you will make more money.
