WIT Women to Watch in 2020!
It is with great pleasure to announce that Megan C. & Alexis B. are part of Women Trucking’s “Women to Watch 2020!” This list is 51 women strong and to have 2 of our leading females proves how remarkable Alexis & Megan are to not only us but to the transportation industry. Please join me in offering them congratulations on this achievement. They are published in WIT’s magazine Redefining the Road in March.
ALEXIS:
Alexis is Veriha’s Controller and oversees the I.T. Department. Alexis’s passion for Veriha and all things transportation is evident in all things that she does. Alexis is a seeker of knowledge and attends several conferences throughout the year for new ideas and technologies that Veriha can implement to streamline operations and cut waste of time and costs out of the organization. While some may wait for someone else to figure out a program or find the answers, she rolls up her sleeves, digs in, and works to find solutions.
Initially, Alexis wasn’t looking to be part of leadership. She was comfortable in her role, being responsible for her area of focus, and exceeding her day to day goals. With a gentle nudge, Alexis started with the Accounting team. Alexis isn’t a loud leader, not someone to boisterously be encouraging her team nor yelling when things go awry. She instead leads with a calm and steady approach. She ensures that expectations are clear, works through the rough spots with kindness, and leads by example.
MEGAN:
Megan is Veriha’s Director of Pricing & Revenue Manager and has been a part of transportation since her interning days in 2005. Megan has worked both on the carrier side and on the customer side being able to provide a unique perspective to all of us in the office when we are discussing possible options when concerns arise.
She is committed to doing what’s right not only for our drivers but for our customers. Her commitment, positive attitude and transparency makes Megan stand out. Megan plays a critical role in all of our pricing opportunities and has been transitioning into more analytical work for cost savings for the entire fleet. She also has been an integral team member in our creation of our Entertainment Division developing customer relationships for Veriha.
“Megan embraces new and different ideas; she is always willing to improve efficiencies within the company! She is not afraid to take a firm stand, whether it be the tough conversation with teammates or customers. Megan is always willing to listen and answer questions, I have learned so much from her just by asking random questions,” stated co-worker Sam while nominating Megan for an internal award.
